Electric Daisy Carnival makes its Colombian debut this Saturday and Sunday. EDC Colombia 2026 Medellín runs October 10–11 (3 PM to 4 AM, 18+) at the Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot, produced by Insomniac and Páramo Presenta, according to Mi Oriente. Setup has already shut several sports venues, and athletes are protesting over a newly renovated track.

EDC Colombia 2026 Medellín: dates, venue and lineup

The festival takes over the sports complex for two days, with more than 80 artists, per El Colombiano. Headliners include Alesso, Deadmau5, Armin van Buuren and Afrojack B2B Green Velvet. Other names on the bill:

  • Techno: Boris Brejcha, Richie Hawtin, ARTBAT, Nico Moreno
  • Trance: Above & Beyond, Astrix, Cosmic Gate, Infected Mushroom
  • House and tech-house: Jamie Jones, Vintage Culture, Maceo Plex, CamelPhat
  • Colombian acts: Funk Tribu, Augusto Yepes, KhoMa, Dezko, Cato Anaya

Saturday’s list includes ARTBAT, Maceo Plex, Astrix, Carlita and Pachanga Boys. Sunday features CamelPhat, Armand Van Helden, 999999999 and Nico Moreno (Mi Oriente). The official EDC Colombia site is the primary source for hours and rules. Five stages were announced (Mi Oriente): kineticFIELD, circuitGROUNDS, neonGARDEN, bionicJUNGLE and stereoBLOOM.

Tickets: when sales opened on June 12 via Ticketmaster, prices ran from COP 599,000 to COP 1,141,000 including service fees (El Colombiano). That is a launch-day range. Prices were not re-checked on October 5, so confirm current availability and prices on Ticketmaster.

Crowd size and the holiday weekend

El Colombiano reports that organizers expect more than 200,000 attendees over the weekend, coming from Colombia, Latin America and the US, with the Monday holiday extending the break (El Colombiano). Mi Oriente’s coverage only says “thousands.” Treat the 200,000 figure as an organizer expectation, not a confirmed count.

If you are visiting, book accommodation early and plan your return trip in advance. For a sense of how the complex behaves on big nights, see our Arcángel concert closures guide and our Super Concierto Feria de las Flores guide.

Venue closures to know

Medellín’s mayor’s office published the closure schedule, per the Alcaldía de Medellín:

VenueClosed fromReopens
Alfonso Galvis stadium (athletics track)Oct 4Partial Oct 14, full Oct 18
Luis Alberto Villegas baseball stadium and Marte 1Oct 4Oct 16
Yesid Santos, Guillermo Gaviria Correa and Iván de Bedout coliseumsOct 4Oct 13–16
Chess park, Jorge Valderrama handball coliseum, futsal courtOct 4Oct 14–18

The city says Juan Pablo II Park and the Belén athletics track stay open so sports programming can continue.

The Alfonso Galvis track controversy

The dispute centers on the 400-meter track, reopened on June 19 after a renovation costing COP 21,000 million (about COP 21 billion), with Mondo surfacing like that used at the Paris 2024 Olympics (El Colombiano). Athlete and journalist Juan Pablo Ramírez told the paper the track saw only about three months of use before the event setup began, roughly 2.5% of its intended lifespan by his calculation. He also warned that 30-ton cranes and trucks crossing it could collapse the air-chamber system that cushions and propels runners, with damage that may not be visible.

INDER director Eduardo Silva Meluk said protections are in place: metal plating on wooden bases, a plastic barrier, shock-absorbing layers and 24-hour monitoring (same source). The Alcaldía adds that performance and infrastructure-guarantee policies cover the athletics track and several coliseums, and that the stadium has policies for civil liability and infrastructure restoration (Alcaldía de Medellín).

Whether the surface survives will only be clear after dismantling. The athletes’ claims and the officials’ assurances are both unverified until then.
