Privacy Policy

Last updated July 16, 2026.

Protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information is fundamental to how we operate Medellín.co (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site and our related services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

Medellín.co™ is operated by Hiro Marketing Group, S.A.S. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site or submitting information to us, you consent to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Policy.

What information we collect

We collect information in two ways: information you give us, and information collected automatically.

Information you provide. This includes anything you enter when you:

  • send us a message through our contact form (your name, email address, and the contents of your message);
  • subscribe to a newsletter or email updates;
  • submit an event, a correction, or a tip;
  • ask to list a business or restaurant in our directory (business name, contact details, and listing information);
  • chat with Kathe, our AI concierge, or otherwise correspond with us.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site we may automatically collect technical information, including:

  • your IP address and the type of device, operating system, and browser you use;
  • the pages you view, the links you click, the searches you run, referral URLs, and the date, time, and length of your visit;
  • diagnostic data such as load times and error messages.

Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent; some parts of the Site may not function properly if you do.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to your messages, tips, corrections, and directory or event submissions;
  • send you newsletters and updates about Medellín if you have asked to receive them;
  • operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our content;
  • understand how visitors use the Site through aggregated, non-identifying analytics;
  • prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with our legal obligations.

When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it in limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use trusted third parties for hosting, email delivery, and analytics who process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide those services.
  • Aggregated data. We may share aggregated, de-identified statistics that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information where required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to investigate or prevent fraud, security issues, or threats to the safety of any person.

How we protect your information

We store your information in a secured environment and use appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit — to guard against loss, misuse, or unauthorized access. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Any information you submit is at your own risk. If a data breach occurs that poses a high risk to you, we will notify the appropriate authorities and affected users without undue delay.

The Site links to third-party websites, businesses, and resources that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

Children under 13

The Site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in each message. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it — including if you are a resident of California, the European Union, or another region with such rights. To make a request, reach us through our contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights, though some features may depend on information you ask us to remove.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
