Medellín Food Festivals October 2026: Pizza Master & More
Medellín food festival October 2026: Burfest (Oct 16–18), Pizza Master (Oct 19–25) and Medellín Gourmet (Oct 1–Nov 2), with prices and how each works.
The Medellín food festival October 2026 calendar is unusually stacked: a burger festival at EAFIT (October 16–18), a one-week pizza promotion (October 19–25), and a month-long restaurant route that runs through November 2. Details below are as reported by Colombian media on October 16–17, 2026. Prices and participating restaurants can change, so check the organizers before you go (El Colombiano).
At a glance: Medellín food festivals in October 2026
| Event | Dates | Price (COP) | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Burfest (5th edition) | Oct 16–18 | 27,000 per burger; free entry | EAFIT campus |
| Festival Agroecológico (18th edition) | Sat, Oct 17, 9 a.m.–8 p.m. | Free entry | Plazoleta, Carlos E. Restrepo |
| Pizza Master | Oct 19–25 | 22,000 per whole pizza | 28 pizzerías in Medellín and Antioquia |
| Medellín Gourmet (29th edition) | Oct 1–Nov 2 | Menus for two from 89,000 | 150 restaurants in Medellín and the Oriente |
For US readers: the official TRM was COP 3,197.65 per US dollar on October 15, 2026 (Noticias Caracol). At that rate, a COP 22,000 pizza is about US$6.90 and a COP 89,000 menu for two is about US$28. The peso moves daily, so check a live rate.
Burfest at EAFIT: October 16–18
Burfest’s fifth edition runs Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18 on the Universidad EAFIT campus, so the final day is October 18. Sixteen burger spots take part, including The Grill Station, Office Burguer, Chum Burguer, Fire House, Bourbons and Barbacoa. Each creates a recipe just for the event, so none repeats. Each burger costs COP 27,000, and entry is free. Tickets are claimed at the entrance, at participating burger spots or at allied shopping centers (El Colombiano).
The program also includes live music, kids’ activities, craft beer and a football museum with a symbolic entry fee, with proceeds going to housing reconstruction in Chocó. The article does not give opening hours, so confirm them with EAFIT or the organizers before heading over.
Festival Agroecológico in Carlos E. Restrepo: October 17
If you would rather shop than queue, the 18th Festival Agroecológico ran on Saturday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the plazoleta of the Carlos E. Restrepo neighborhood. It was a one-day event. About 40 campesino initiatives from across Antioquia sold coffee, cacao, honey, seeds, produce, sourdough bread and sweets, with workshops, barter and music. Entry was free. The Corporación Ecologista y Feminista Penca de Sábila organizes it, and its program is on Instagram at @cor.penca (El Colombiano).
Pizza Master 2026 in Medellín: October 19–25
Pizza Master is a national promotion organized by Tulio Zuloaga of Tulio Recomienda. Nationally it spans 230 restaurants in 49 cities and municipalities, and every participant sells a whole pizza to share for COP 22,000 (La República). In Medellín and Antioquia, El Colombiano counts 28 pizzerías, citing Pizzaiolo, Pane e Pomodoro, D’Lucca, Corrientes, Bigzza and Ricotta Sibarita as examples; the full list is on the organizer’s site.
Diners vote for their favorite recipes in the Tulio app. Organizers say the 2025 edition sold 368,400 pizzas in seven days (La República), so expect crowds at popular spots. Reserving or going off-peak is sensible, though I could not confirm which restaurants take reservations for the event. Hours vary by restaurant, so check each pizzería’s own hours.
Medellín Gourmet: the long game, October 1 to November 2
The 29th Medellín Gourmet, organized by País Gourmet, runs October 1 to November 2, 2026 and covers 150 restaurants in Medellín and the Oriente antioqueño. It is a route rather than a single venue. Each restaurant offers a set menu for two with a starter, two main courses, dessert and drinks, in four price tiers: COP 89,000, 119,000, 159,000 and 209,000. Sponsor drinks are included, and the top tier adds two glasses of Viña Tarapacá Reserva (Vivir en El Poblado). The same dates and tiers, unchanged from the April edition, are reported by ABC Economía and Telemedellín.
Diners rate food, service and atmosphere at medellingourmet.com, and those votes decide the winners (El Colombiano). Opening hours depend on each restaurant; the list is on that site and the festival’s social accounts.
How to plan it
- October 16–18: Burfest at EAFIT. The agroecológico market was Saturday, October 17 only.
- October 19–25: Pizza Master is the cheapest way to try several pizzerías. Medellín Gourmet, open until November 2, suits a sit-down dinner for two.
- Budget check: the listed prices are per item or per menu for two, so drinks beyond the included ones and tips are extra.
