Visa - Type V - Religious

Foreigners who are part of the hierarchy of a church, confession, religious denomination, federation, confederation, or association of religious ministers, as recognized by the competent authority, can apply for the Colombia Religious Visa.

Offering a two-year validity to explore your spiritual journey. This visa extends benefits to beneficiaries while maintaining a clear focus – any activities beyond the visa’s designated purpose are a no-go as it is a Visitor Visa (Type V) does not allow accumulated time for resident (Type-R).

Visa Requirements

Valid passport with at least six months of validity.
Certificate and legal representation of the respective religious organization issued by the Ministry of the Interior or by the Diocese or Archdiocese.
Submit a letter from the legal representative of the religious organization confirming the applicant’s affiliation and detailing the type of contract, purpose, and planned activities in Colombia. The letter should also commit to providing foreigners with social security and health coverage.
To demonstrate financial solvency, the organization must provide bank statements for the preceding six months, reflecting an average of 100 current legal minimum wages at the time of application (130.000.000).
